Why should I use a mortgage broker?
A Mortgage Broker will be able to source finance from a variety of banks and lenders giving you greater choice (as opposed to seeking out one or several lenders individually). A Mortgage Broker will also be able to compare various LENDERS products on an even playing field as well as saving you time.

Why not deal directly with a bank or lending institution?
Banks and lending institutions will only ever offer their own products and often have contrary motivations than that of your best interests. Examples of these are cross selling additional bank products as well as promoting products with the highest profit margins.
What is a comparison rate?
Average Annualised Percentage Rate is the comparison rate for a home loan, taking into account the setup and ongoing fees. Normal interest rate figures do not take into account any setup or ongoing fees for the home loan, and thus cannot be as easily used to compare loans.
Does The Castle provide residential investment advice directly?
No. The Castle does not offer investment advice either in property or on shares/ securities. The Castle will however structure the required finance and can recommend a suitably qualified professional who can assist you, such as a Property Buyers Agent or Financial Planner.
What is a Property Buyers Agent and should I use one?
The Castle recommends at the very least the consideration of using a Property Buyers Agent when purchasing residential property. Property Buyers Agents are professionals who source property for their clients and then negotiate the terms of the sale on their behalf. In the process of making major decisions in day to day life it is often prudent to engage a professional such as an Accountant, Lawyer or Financial planner. As the purchase of a home is usually the largest financial decision most people make in their life time it makes perfect sense to engage a professional to act on your behalf.
